The Daily Squelch has obtained these exclusive excerpts from CNN.com's exclusive interview with Jessica Baty, girlfriend of Northern Illinois gunman Steven Kazmierczak:

He was, like, the most caring and nicest guy ever. I mean, I know that's gonna sound silly since he just killed all those people in a crazed rage, but ... Nicest. Guy. Ever.

He didn't care that I was a little overweight or that I couldn't relate to all his online fan fiction about violent prison fights. He just loved me for me.

Even knowing what happened, I don't understand. We were so in love. And we just had the best Valentines day. He wrote me this beautiful 60-page Valentine's screed on the backs of all these photos of celebrity children with their eyes painted red... [sighing] he was just the sweetest guy.

We'd been together for years. I thought we'd always be together. I remember when we'd spend those long nights together in the dorms, me knitting, him writing angry letters to his omnipresent foes and occasionally cutting his thigh with a knife. God it sounds so silly now.

He was just Steve. Totally normal Steve with a huge bloody Saw tattoo on one arm and a pentagram on the other and who loved to shove me against the wall when we got into fights or I didn't obey his every command. Oh, Lord, why weren't there any signs!? Why, Lord!?

It's like I knew everything about him except his history of mental illness, and who could imagine that'd be the one thing that mattered?
