I'm sorry, this isn't funny. I'm just so angry...
Hey, you got religion in my science! No, you got science in my religion!

On Eave of Pope's Visit, Formerly Holy Stem Cell Technique Now Super Duper Evil

Earlier in the year we at the DailySquelch reported on an exciting breakthrough in stem cell technology that was hailed by President Bush and the Catholic Church as an ethical alternative to harvesting the cells from fertilized embryos. Now that same technique is the key to human cloning and has probably made the arrival of the first human clone a foregone conclusion, making the previously good technique now an obviously evil and horrible affront to God and his son Jesus and his brother Moses.

Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting with President Bush this week and the President has planned a massive celebration, according heretofore unheard-of honors and resources on the visit. Bush told the EWTN Global Catholic Network in an interview aired Friday that he wanted to honor Benedict's conviction that "there's right and wrong in life, that moral relativism has a danger of undermining the capacity to have more hopeful and free societies." Apparently, the Pope and George Bush can deem one type of microscopic cell holy one week and then a bridge to God's immortal wrath the next, all without ever questioning how their absolutist beliefs could possibly change over the course of one year if everything they think is so obviously and self-evidently true.

That's the joke. Reality.
